Laetitia AOUN grabs silver medal at the 2016 Taekwondo Turkish Open! – Sports961

16 Feb. 2016 – Laeticia AOUN, the young rising star from Mont La Salle, is excelling on the international level. After a great season in 2015, she starts the 2016 season with a Silver medal at the Taekwondo Turkish Open!

She won four consecutive matches before losing in the final against the Turkish athlete in 10-3. In her first fight, she defeated ARZUMAN, a Turkish athlete in 8-3! In her second one, she won over DIDDEN, a fighter from the Netherlands in an amazing 13 to 1 points! She continued her success by defeating another Turkish athlete, OZDEMIR, in her third game in 8-3 points.

Laeticia won easily the first three fights. In her fourth one, she was against KAYUMOVA from Uzbekistan. The tough fight ended by a Golden Point for Laeticia’s favor that allowed her to go to the finals!

“Well, this was her first championship as junior, as she just moved from [the] Cadet [category] and still she was able to outperform the others although she is the youngest in this category”, said her coach Ralph HARB.

Laeticia won a gold medal last year at the Croatian Open, she also won silver medal at the Asian championship medal at the Asian championship during the past season. According to her coach Ralph HARB, “it is a good preparation for the World Juniors Championship [that will be held in] Canada in November this year.
Elias HEDARY won a gold medal in the Seniors Category as well. The championship is still on for few days ahead! We are looking forward for more great achievements from our Lebanese team!
